International
A sustainable, adequate supply of energy is clearly the global challenge of our age. Meeting this challenge will require both local and global action. IEE is working to build international partnerships to connect our faculty with people and institutions throughout the world working on this important issue.
Current IEE international partnership endeavors include:
- A partnership is underway with Wuhan University in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. In December 2007, IEE met with a delegation from Wuhan University, including its President to discuss forming collaboration around energy. President Liu Jingnan invited OSU to bring a delegation to Wuhan in the fall of 2008 to hold a joint energy workshop. Click here for a summary of that meeting.
IEE is working with a planning committee made up of Dr. Larry Brown (FAES), Dr. Dehua Pei (MAPs), and Dr. Surjaveet Sen (COE) to build this collaboration and plan the energy workshop. Any faculty interested in participating with this collaboration should contact us. - Building upon the visit of Iceland's President, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson's to OSU last year, the IEE will explore a broader partnership focused on alternative energy. - IEE is exploring a partnership with King Saud University in Saudi Arabia related to energy
